Hunters Nabbed In Khammam Forest With Improvised Sniper Rifle
Khammam/Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News): Telangana Forest Officers thwarted an attempt by hunters from Hyderabad to poach wild animals in the Tallada range of Khammam on Sunday and confiscated an improvised sniper rifle and other weapons.

Six individuals were apprehended and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days on Monday. The mastermind behind this illegal operation is a car workshop owner from Hyderabad, with assistance from a YouTuber known for posting snake catching videos. The incident occurred in Kanakagiri Reserve Forest, Brahmalakunta beat, Kothagudem section, Tallada Range.
The main accused were identified as Pushpala Sugriv Jeet (58), a resident of Chikoti Gardens, Begumpet and Youtuber Derangula Midhu Kumar (31), a resident of Chandrugonda in Bhadradri Kothagudem. They were located near a large water body called Puligundla, which remains a source of water when all other sources dry up, attracting wildlife to the area.

Police also seized a car along with hunting equipment. “They were camping in the forest area to hunt wildlife animals like leopards, sloth bears and deer. The sniper rifle, equipped with a telescope and a torch, ia an improvised firearm, added the DFO, wildlife. (Maxim News)
