On Friday evening, Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy personally reviewed the preparations at the venue. He was accompanied by officials from the District Employment and Training Centre (DETC) and staff from Singareni Collieries. Initially planned as a single-day event, the job mela was extended after registrations crossed 36,000 by Friday evening, with officials projecting the number to exceed 40,000 before commencement.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Uttam said, “The unexpected response reflects the confidence unemployed youth have in the Congress government.” He added that all participants would be given sufficient time and opportunity during the recruitment process. “Everyone who has registered will get a fair opportunity. There is no need for any rush or anxiety,” he assured, emphasizing that interviews would take place in a phased and organized manner.

Highlighting the event’s scale and inclusivity, the minister said that 275 companies have confirmed participation, which he described as a positive development for a rural constituency like Huzurnagar. He noted that the Congress government’s commitment to employment generation is not merely a slogan but a core resolution, and events like this showcase the administration’s intent to connect talent with genuine opportunities.

Uttam Kumar Reddy also pointed out that the government aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural job seekers by bringing large-scale employment drives to remote areas. “Urban youth have exposure and access to opportunities, but we are determined to ensure equal reach to rural youth,” he stated.
