Hyderabad: 8 Arrested For Running Khelo Games Betting Racket

Hyderabad: The Task Force (South) team along with the local police busted an illegal online betting racket and arrested eight members of a gang involved in operating the banned Khelo Games betting apps in SR Nagar on Monday.

The gang was using various popular mobile applications to run online betting. They created multiple user IDs and bank accounts in the names of unsuspecting persons to channel winnings.

The arrested suspects are G Vinay Kumar, N Sai Vardhan Goud, D Rahul, D Jeshwanth Teja, Venu Gopal, K Ram, Velpula Akash and D Pranay. Two key suspects, Rajesh and Aslam of Karimnagar, are absconding.

Police said the gang had generated 235 user IDs to run the betting racket and were luring punters on a commission basis.

Police seized 18 mobile phones, three bank passbooks, 13 ATM cards, and froze online transactions worth Rs 29.8 lakh.
