Hyderabad among top 20 sustainable cities in Asia-Pacific region
Hyderabad: Cities must become more sustainable now more than ever because of the threat that climate change poses to society. Hyderabad appears to be functioning well and improving in this area.
A recent assessment places the city third among Indian cities and among the top 20 sustainable cities in the Asia-Pacific region.
In its most recent study, Active Capital Asia-Pacific – Rising Capital in Uncertain Times, real estate consultant Knight Frank ranked four Indian cities among the top twenty sustainable cities in the APAC Sustainability Index 2021.
Singapore, Sydney, Wellington, Perth, and Melbourne are among the top five greenest cities in the Asia-Pacific area for commercial real estate. On the basis of government initiatives, climate risk, urbanisation pressure, and risk to the environment, the index has assigned grades to 36 cities.
Hyderabad has been placed third in the India area for sustainable commercial real estate projects, behind Bengaluru and Delhi.
