Hyderabad Auto Driver | Hyderabad, Sept. 21: An auto driver was allegedly beaten to death after a dispute over Rs 10 change in Vattepally, Hyderabad, on Sunday evening. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
The deceased was identified as 42 year old Mohammed Mukarram. He was reportedly attacked after an argument over the change for an auto fare.
According to preliminary information, the dispute began when a passenger gave a Rs 200 note for a fare. The argument reportedly involved Rs 10 in change.
The confrontation later escalated into an assault. Mukarram suffered serious injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment. Doctors later declared him dead, according to reports.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault and death. Officials are also working to establish the sequence of events and identify all those involved.

The incident occurred in Vattepally under Rajendranagar police station limits, according to multiple reports. Police and local AIMIM leaders reached the area after the incident.
Police are examining allegations about the events that preceded the assault. Reports have named Azeem and Shoaib among the persons suspected of involvement. The police investigation will determine their individual roles.
AIMIM Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen visited Mukarram’s family and sought swift action against those responsible. He also urged senior police officials to increase patrolling in the area.
Mubeen alleged that Azeem claimed to work as a news reporter. He also alleged that Azeem called several associates after the initial dispute. These claims have not been independently established and remain part of the allegations surrounding the case.
Mukarram’s family has also raised allegations about some people allegedly presenting themselves as media representatives. They claimed that some individuals were moving around the Old City while using media identities. Police are examining these allegations as part of the wider investigation.
Investigators are expected to examine CCTV footage, witness statements and other available evidence. They may also examine phone records and communications linked to the incident.
Police have not yet established whether the fare dispute alone led to the fatal assault. The investigation will determine whether any other factors played a role.
