Hyderabad: A police constable allegedly died by suicide at the LB Nagar Police Station on Wednesday, leaving his colleagues and family members shocked.
The deceased was identified as Sai Kumar, who was attached to the LB Nagar police station.
According to preliminary information, Sai Kumar had reported for night duty and was performing his duties at the station on Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning, fellow police personnel reportedly found him hanging inside the station premises. They immediately alerted senior officials.
LB Nagar Inspector Vinod visited the station and inspected the scene. Police have not yet established the reason behind the alleged suicide.
The constable’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Family Seeks Clarity Over Constable’s Death
Meanwhile, Sai Kumar’s family members have raised questions over the circumstances surrounding his death and sought a detailed explanation from the police.
The family has reportedly demanded that his mobile phone be handed over to them, saying it could contain information relevant to the circumstances leading to his death.
Family members have also reportedly expressed displeasure over the body being shifted for post-mortem without informing them first.
Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and are expected to question personnel who were present at the station during the relevant period.
The investigation is underway, while officials are also likely to examine the deceased constable’s phone and other available evidence as part of the probe.
