According to the official memorandum issued by the Hyderabad Police, Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors of the Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS) are required to identify accused persons, maintain detailed records of their activities, and ensure continuous monitoring. The directive also emphasizes that history sheets should be opened even for suspects not yet convicted, in line with the provisions of the Telangana State Police Manual (TSPM) and Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The instructions come after a series of circulars and legal provisions from the Director General of Police, Telangana State, and the Telangana State Government Cyber Security Bureau (TGSCB). Officials noted that habitual offenders in social media misuse and financial frauds pose a growing threat. Maintaining Suspect/History Sheets will allow authorities to closely monitor online activity, prevent potential crimes, and manage habitual offenders more effectively.

The Hyderabad Police memo stresses that all CCPS units must submit compliance reports to their respective offices within the stipulated time frame. Legal advisories from the State Cyber Security Bureau reinforce that this measure is fully authorized under the Telangana State Police Manual and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Authorities highlighted that this step is crucial to curb cybercrime and financial fraud across the city.

This directive marks a proactive approach by Telangana Police in enhancing cybercrime surveillance, tracking habitual offenders, and strengthening preventive measures against online and financial criminal activities. (Maxim News)
