Job Scam Leads to Rs 9.96 Lakh Loss
In one case, a 54-year-old victim was tricked into believing that they had secured a job opportunity in Australia. The fraudsters managed to steal Rs 9,96,644 from the victim. The CCCU took immediate action, sending notices to bank officials and freezing the fraudulent accounts. Additionally, the victim was guided through the process of filing a petition in court to request a refund from the accounts where the money was held. As a result, the victim successfully received Rs 1,51,300 as a refund.
Stock Trading Fraud Recovered Rs 4.50 Lakh
In another instance, a 40-year-old individual was deceived by scammers offering fake stock trading opportunities. The victim lost Rs 4.70 lakh in this scheme. Thanks to the intervention of the CCCU, Rs 4.50 lakh was refunded to the victim, providing some financial relief.

Courier Scam Results in Refund of Rs 10.10 Lakh
A 31-year-old woman became the target of a fraudulent courier scheme, losing Rs 19.94 lakh in the process. However, the CCCU’s prompt action led to the refund of Rs 10,10,503 to the victim, who had fallen prey to the scam.
Money Laundering Fraud Leads to Rs 2.53 Lakh Refund
A 76-year-old woman was deceived in a money laundering scam, resulting in a loss of Rs 50 lakh. Following an investigation and intervention by the CCCU, the victim was refunded Rs 2,53,500 from the fraudulent transaction.

Investment Fraud Results in Rs 3.26 Lakh Recovery
In the fifth case, a 40-year-old man was duped into investing, promising substantial returns. He lost Rs 48,17,663. However, after the CCCU’s involvement, the victim was able to recover Rs 3,26,362.
Police Warn Against Cybercrime Scams
City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has urged the public to remain vigilant against cybercrimes, especially those involving threatening video calls from individuals impersonating officials from agencies like the CBI, RBI, ED, or even cybercrime police. He advised citizens not to panic if they receive such calls. If anyone falls victim to cybercrime, they are urged to call the helpline at 1930 or report the incident at cybercrime.gov.in.
