Hyderabad, Nov. 9 (Maxim News) : Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said cybercrimes worth several crores are taking place every day in Hyderabad.
He was speaking at an awareness program organized by the Hyderabad City Police to educate citizens on preventing cyber fraud. The Commissioner warned that many people are being cheated through fraudulent investment apps that promise high returns.
“Money will not come easily. People must take precautions before making any investment,” he advised. Sajjanar explained that even APK files, often used to install applications outside official stores, are being exploited by fraudsters to steal data and money.
Sajjanar urged citizens who lose money in cybercrimes to act immediately by calling the helpline number 1930 to file complaints, Prompt reporting, he said, increases the chances of freezing stolen funds and tracing the culprits.
The Commissioner reiterated that awareness and caution are the best defenses against the growing threat of cybercrime. (Maxim News)
