Hyderabad Firing: Kalapather Rowdy Sheeter Omer Ansari Identified As Suspect In DCP Firing

Hyderabad, Oct 25: The suspect injured in the firing by South East DCP Chaitanya Kumar has been identified as Mohammad Omer Ansari, a rowdy sheeter from PS Kalapathar.
He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chaderghat.
Hyderabad Police have launched a full-scale investigation and are collecting and analyzing CCTV footage from various public and private cameras to trace the suspect’s movements before and after the incident near Victoria Ground.
CP VC Sajjanar Clarifies
The incident took place within the Sultan Bazar police station limits. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar visited the scene and spoke to the media, clarifying that the situation was brought under control swiftly by local police.
He asserted that there is no law and order issue in the area and urged citizens not to believe rumors or misleading social media posts.

He emphasized that the public should rely only on official information from the Hyderabad City Police.
The Commissioner’s statement aimed to quell any panic and provide an official account of the events.
The input mentioned that the incident occurred near Esamia Bazar, Chaderghat, under the Sultan Bazar police station limits, but the primary location was Victoria Ground.
The clarification from the Commissioner helped to consolidate the details and present a unified police narrative.

Kalapather Rowdy Sheeter Omer Ansari To Be Questioned Soon
The condition of Omer Ansari is being monitored, and he will be questioned as soon as he is medically fit.

The swift identification of the suspect and the high-level response, including the visit by the Commissioner, underscore the seriousness with which the department is treating this attack on a senior officer.
After visiting the scene Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said that the South-East Zone DCP, S Chaitanya Kumar, was on his way to the office at Saidabad, he noticed two men had snatched a mobile phone from a person and running in Chaderghat area.
The DCP and his gunman (Security Officer) got down from the vehicle and chased the suspect to catch them. When the gunman caught one of the phone snatcher, he whipped out a knife and tried to attack the DCP and his gunman.
The DCP fired two rounds in self-defense. The rowdy sheeter/Phone snatcher Mohammed Omer Ansari ran away from the spot into the neighbouring Victoria playground.
The police later tracked him down with the help of local people, he had suffered with two bullet injuries. He was shifted to a private hospital.
Another accused entered a residential area and escaped from there.
The DCP and his gunman also rushed to a private hospital, for first aid. The Phone snatcher Md Omer Ansari, is a Rowdy Sheeter, involved over 20 cases and 2 PD Acts, went to jail also. Another offender is absconding, search in on. DCP and constable are safe, cp further added.
