Hyderabad: Flood Relief Distribution Resumed
The Telangana government on Tuesday resumed the distribution of flood relief of Rs 10,000 to the affected families. On Tuesday, as many as 7,939 families which are affected by the floods received the amount totalling Rs 7.94 crore.
The GHMC officials said that the distribution of flood assistance would be continued for the next few days and urged the people not to visit Mee-Seva centres for enrollment. According to the officials of GHMC, the government spent around Rs 649 crore before the GHMC election providing assistance to 6.49 lakh families.
The flood assistance in Hyderabad was halted due to the election code and the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao assured to resume the flood relief distribution from December 7. As assured, the government deposited the amount in the bank accounts of the flood victims.
On Monday, GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar asked the flood victims not to visit Mee-Seva centres as the government to deposit the amount directly into the bank accounts after identifying the victims.
