Hyderabad Likely To Get Artificial Beach Soon, Details Here
Hyderabad is set to bring a slice of coastal paradise to the heart of Telangana with its very own artificial beach. The state government has greenlit a Rs. 225 crore project to develop a 35-acre beach at Kotwal Guda on the outskirts of the city. Construction is expected to begin this December under a public-private partnership. The plan is to develop a comprehensive entertainment and adventure destination that goes beyond just a beach, offering a one-stop spot for families to spend entire weekends in Hyderabad without leaving the city.
What Will The Hyderabad Artificial Beach Look Like?
The artificial beach is conceived as a multi-sensory escape that will feature a man-made lake with sandy shores, floating villas, luxury hotels and a full lineup of adventure sports. The place also promises family-friendly amenities such as wave pools, parks, play zones, cycling tracks, food courts, theatres and decorative fountains.
Why Kotwal Guda For The Artificial Beach?
Kotwal Guda was selected for this specific project due to its strategic location near the Outer Ring Road, providing excellent connectivity and ample space for development. Notably, environmental protection will be a top priority, with eco-friendly construction methods being strictly implemented.
Telangana Government’s Tourism Vision
In a statement, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC) Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy said that the Detailed Project Report for the artificial beach is complete, and construction will start soon. He was also optimistic about attracting international investors beyond the initial Rs. 225 crore investment.
Reddy highlighted Telangana’s vast untapped tourism potential, valued at over Rs. 15,000 crore. The artificial beach will be a flagship project marking Hyderabad’s entry into the league of global tourist hotspots, he added.
With the artificial beach, Hyderabad residents can look forward to beachside weekends without leaving the city. Tourists can also travel to the city for more than just its famous biryani and historical landmarks.
