Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police solved the mystery behind the murder of a cinema set worker reported on Friday with the arrest of his friend on Monday. The knife allegedly used for the murder was also seized.
The suspect, Shamer Baig (39), a native of Vijayawada, also worked on cinema sets and lived in LB Nagar while the victim, Rajesh, worked along with him. Both knew each other for the last 10 years. On Wednesday, there was an argument between the two with Baig accusing Rajesh of stealing money from him. Infuriated over the allegations, Rajesh beat up Baig.
“On Friday night, when Rajesh was sitting on a road divider at Krishnanagar, Baig stabbed him to death,” said A R Srinivas, in-charge DCP (West), adding that Baig was nabbed on Monday and produced before court.
