Hyderabad: Man Held for Illegal Weapon Possession

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (Maxim News): A routine operation by the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone, has turned into a significant bust with the arrest of 35-year-old Mohammed Aslam. The auto driver, residing in Warasiguda, Hyderabad, was found illegally carrying a country-made weapon known as “Tapancha” along with two live cartridges.

The apprehension, recorded under Crime Number 815/2023 at Chilkalguda Police Station under the Arms Act, sheds light on a concerning past for Aslam.

He previously faced charges at RGI Airport Police Station (Crime Number 514/2017, section 395 IPC) and Charminar Police Station (Crime Number 134/2018, sections 420, 380 IPC).

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sreebala B, said that the investigation unravels a personal narrative intertwining past and present. Having migrated to Hyderabad in 2002, Aslam faced marital strife, divorcing his first wife Rizwana before remarrying Sameena in 2020. Recent tensions within his second marriage fueled resentment towards his wife and in-laws, a motive allegedly pushing him to acquire the illegal weapon.

Aslam procured the Tapancha and cartridges from Nasim, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

The Tapancha and live cartridges have been handed over to the Station House Officer at Chilkalguda Police Station for further legal action. Inspector of Police L. Bhaskar Reddy and Sub-Inspector G. Naveen spearheaded the successful operation, (Maxim News)
