Hyderabad on Alert as GHMC Launches Dengue Prevention Drive
Hyderabad: Additional Commissioner (Health) C.N. Raghu Prasad has instructed officials to take stringent measures to prevent dengue in Greater Hyderabad City.
GHMC officials have been alerted after two people tested positive for dengue in Sanath Nagar. As per the orders of the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner (Health) C.N. Raghu Prasad on Saturday conducted a field visit to the colony where dengue positive cases were registered in Sanath Nagar to ascertain the health situation.
Raghu Prasad spoke directly to dengue victims in the SRT Colony near Sanath Nagar bus stand and inquired about their health conditions. Medical officers and staff have been advised to conduct dengue diagnostic tests for fever sufferers and suspects in colonies where dengue cases have been reported.

Regular Awareness Drives To Be Conducted
To combat mosquito-borne diseases, GHMC entomology teams should regularly conduct awareness drives and anti-larvae operations. Mosquito breeding sites should be identified and preventive measures should be taken.
The Additional Commissioner advised the people to intensify anti-larval operations in slums, schools and hostels. He also advised them to ensure that rainwater does not accumulate in the surroundings of their homes.
Joint Commissioner of Health Shankar, Assistant Medical Officer Chandra Shekhar Reddy, officials and staff of the Health and Malaria Department participated.
