Hyderabad plays major role in Life Sciences: KTR

Hyderabad, Feb.24 (Maxim News): IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao today claimed that Hyderabad plays a major role at world level in the Life Sciences sector. He inaugurated a two-day 19th edition of Life Sciences international Bio Asia Conference virtually from Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said he was looking forward to a meeting with Microsoft Founder Bill Gates as part of the life sciences conclave. “We have attracted as many as 215 companies, which invested about Rs 6,400 crore. This has helped us create huge employment for 34,000 people. Compared to last year, this year Hyderabad has achieved 200 percent development in this sector”, he said, adding that it speaks volumes of how the State government works for its progress.

“We are providing hassle-free mechanism and support for the new companies to invest and foray into the State to do their divergent businesses”, he said. He also stated that Genome Valley works like a backbone of the life science sector in the State. Discussing the challenges in the wake of Covid pandemic and vaccination and production of vaccines from Hyderabad, KTR said they are taking all measures to push the life sciences sector to next level. He also said Hyderabad city is noted for Pharma industry, IT and industries development in addition to others. Telangana State was able to develop a Corona Vaccine to take on the virus and provided huge stocks of vaccines to the entire World, he claimed. (Maxim News)
