Hyderabad Police Hotel And Lodge Management To Adhere To Public Safety Act 

Hyderabad, Nov 12 (Maxim News):  The Hyderabad City Police reminded management of the hotels and lodges to  adhere to the Telangana State Public Safety Act, applicable trade licence norms, and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Officials cautioned that any deviation or negligence that harms public safety would invite stringent legal action. The discussion highlighted accountability, record-keeping, surveillance standards, and coordination with local police stations to deter unlawful activities.

The meeting held with North Zone hotels and lodges management of over 100 hotel and lodge owners and managers from Hyderabad’s North Zone attended, a meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Zone, today, acting on instructions from the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City. The session, also attended by the ACP Gopalapuram and SHOs from North Zone, focused on ensuring all establishments operate strictly within the law, with special emphasis on public safety and statutory compliance.

Clear instructions were issued for strict compliance. Managements must maintain a Visitor Register with complete entries and submit daily details to the local SHO. At check-in, they must verify and retain valid identification documents for all guests, ensure authenticity, and keep records ready for inspection. Establishments were directed to install CCTV cameras with the minimum backup mandated under the Public Safety Act to support investigations and deter crime.

Organizers further directed prior intimation to and permission from local police before conducting any events, gatherings, or training programmes on the premises. Owners were warned to prevent illegal activities, including prostitution, drug peddling, or other unlawful acts, within their properties. Adequate on-site security, including DFMD/HHMD scanners and trained security guards, was stressed as a non-negotiable requirement for guest safety and lawful operations.

The meeting underscored that sustained cooperation between hospitality businesses and law enforcement is essential for maintaining public order. Police reiterated that compliance checks would continue and violations would be dealt with firmly as per law. The North Zone police leadership urged all establishments to implement the directions immediately and report compliance to their respective police stations. (Maxim News)
