Hyderabad Rains Forecast Till July 30: Hussain Sagar Near Full Tank Level, IMD Issues Weather Update

Hyderabad, July 27 (Maxim News) – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has forecast continuous rains for the city and surrounding districts until July 30, with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected to accompany the showers. With this ongoing spell of monsoon rainfall, Hussain Sagar Lake is inching closer to its Full Tank Level (FTL), prompting close monitoring by local authorities.

Hussain Sagar Water Level Near Danger Mark

As of Saturday, the water level in Hussain Sagar stood at 513.41 meters, just below its FTL of 514.75 meters. The lake is currently receiving an inflow of 1,181 cusecs, while 792 cusecs are being discharged. Though no official flood alert has been issued yet, residents living in low-lying areas have been advised to stay cautious as rainfall continues.

IMD Predicts Thunderstorms, Lightning, and Winds

The IMD Hyderabad’s forecast indicates light to moderate rain and isolated thundershowers across several Telangana districts, including Hyderabad. The department has warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls, though no specific red or orange alerts have been issued for the city as of now.

Sunday is expected to bring rain accompanied by gusty winds, with weather likely to remain unstable through mid-week. Officials are urging citizens to stay indoors during heavy rainfall periods and avoid waterlogged areas.
