The Hyderabad RRR is planned to reduce congestion in the city. It will redirect freight and long distance traffic away from urban roads. At the same time, it aims to improve regional connectivity across the northern districts of Telangana. Officials see the project as vital for smoother transport movement and better road planning.

Responding to a question raised by BJP MP Etela Rajender, Nitin Gadkari said the Centre and the Telangana government have agreed to share land acquisition costs equally. Under this arrangement, the state will bear 50 per cent of the land cost. The remaining cost will be borne by the Centre. According to the minister, this decision is expected to speed up execution of the Hyderabad RRR project.

Meanwhile, the Telangana government has also extended further financial support. It has offered a waiver of royalty on minor minerals required for construction. It has also agreed to refund the State Goods and Services Tax linked to the project. These steps are expected to reduce the financial burden and support smoother implementation of the Hyderabad RRR.

Gadkari also informed the Lok Sabha about central funding support for the state. He said Telangana has received Rs. 367.17 crore from the Central Infrastructure Fund during the current financial year. This allocation aims to strengthen road infrastructure. It will also support both ongoing and upcoming highway projects in the state.

Over the last six years, around 1,904 kilometres of national highways have been developed across Telangana. During the same period, 21 new toll plazas were established. These measures focus on managing traffic flow and maintaining highway assets.

Once operational, the Hyderabad RRR is expected to ease pressure on city roads. It will also cut travel time for freight movement. Officials believe it will improve access between Hyderabad and surrounding districts. The project is also expected to support industrial expansion, logistics hubs and balanced regional development, making the Hyderabad RRR a major transport corridor for the state.
