Hyderabad Sailing Week Day 2
Secunderabad, 06 Jul 2023: After seeing light wind yesterday afternoon races today as usual gust in wind from 8 to 15 knots, the wind is steady at 240 degrees and slight oscillation of 10 degrees on both sides. Today is cloudy and beautiful weather in Hussain Sagar giving more strength for the Sailing. Morning condition for ILCA 4 (Boys & Girls) ILCA 7 Average time of each race is 45 min today in ILCA 7.
The second day of the races saw some trademark strong winds of Hyderabad Sailing Week. The sailors were delighted to see the steady 10 knots wind, gusting up to 15 knots. ILCA7 & ILCA4 races were scheduled in the morning and ILCA6 races in post-lunch sessions.
Colonel Jaggi (Retd), the Race officer for the Regatta said the choppy waters of the Hussain Sagar Lake during monsoon & especially during the month of July pose ideal sailing conditions, which tests the mettle of the toughest sailors of the country.
Master Pranav Sharma Was very excited to have finished his three races in the morning session, as he is sailing his first Regatta since he started learning the sport in July last year.
Shri Uday & Smt Sarla, Director of ‘UDAY for Sailors” Foundation said, they are happy to see more & more young sailors joining the sport & reiterated their commitment to broadening the base of the sport in the country & making sailing accessible & affordable in the country.
The day-2 witnessed some really healthy competition among the top fleets & the results after the competition of the Day-2 races are attached separately.
