- Holidays to Cut Academic Week to Four Days for Schools in Hyderabad and Telangana
Hyderabad Schools | Hyderabad, August 11: Schools in Hyderabad and across several districts of Telangana will see a shortened academic week, with classes scheduled for only four days this week due to consecutive public holidays.
According to the Telangana government’s 2025 academic calendar, schools will remain closed on Friday, August 15, in observance of Independence Day, and again on Saturday, August 16, for Sri Krishnashtami, the Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna.
While Independence Day 2025 will see institutions holding ceremonial events and patriotic programs ahead of the holiday, many schools are also preparing cultural activities and competitions to mark the occasion. Sri Krishnashtami, on the other hand, will be celebrated with traditional festivities, especially in educational and community spaces.
Hyderabad Schools | Holidays in August
The month of August holds more breaks for students. Schools will remain closed again on Wednesday, August 27, for Vinayaka Chavithi.
As per the schedule, August includes four general holidays and one optional holiday for schools across Telangana.
