DCP Chaitanya | Hyderabad, Oct. 25: South East DCP Chaitanya opened fire on a thief after the latter allegedly attempted to attack him with a knife, creating a fresh alert in Hyderabad.

He said that two thieves attempted to flee after snatching a mobile phone near Victoria Ground in Chaderghat. South East DCP Chaitanya, who was present at the spot with his team, tried to apprehend them. During the chase, one of the thieves allegedly attacked a constable with a knife.
In self-defense, DCP Chaitanya fired two rounds, injuring one of the accused. The injured suspect has been shifted to a hospital for treatment, while DCP Chaitanya and his team are safe.
