Hyderabad water tank development, Know facts

Hyderabad, Oct.4 (Maxim News): State Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KTR today said that their government was developing the tanks located in the state capital Hyderabad. He also said that they were also maintaining them.

Replying to questions raised by the members of State Assembly during question and answer session, KTR said that they were building walking tracks around the tanks and added that they had also taken up the beautification and storm water drains diversion program around the tanks . He said that out of 185 tanks, they had identified 127 tanks for the development and added that they had already developed 48 tanks out of the identified tanks . He said that they had sanctioned ₹407.3 crore and added they had spent ₹218 crore.

KTR said that they had taken up the beautification works of 63 tanks and completed the beautification works of 48 tanks by spending ₹94.17 crore. He said the beautification works of the remaining 15 tanks were at different stages of progress.

Speaking further , he said that they had taken up the tank restoration works under mission Kakatiya (urban) scheme and took up the restoration works of 19 tanks at an estimated cost of ₹282.63 crore. He said that they would set up a division for protection and development of the tanks in GHMC limits and added that a special officer would be appointed to head the division. KTR said that the state government was ready to receive constructive suggestions from the opposition parties of the State on the issue of the development of the tanks. He said that they would set up sewerage plants in the next two years.

Minister KTR on Development of Lakes in Hyderabad

Telangana: Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) minister KT Rama Rao on Monday said that all the lakes in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits are being development by the government.

Responding to the question in the assembly, the minister said that all the lakes are being monitored and developed in the city. Development works such as walking track, beautification, diversion of nalas are being done. “There are around 185 lakes of which 127 are being recognized for development. A total of 48 lakes were developed and the government granted Rs 407.30 crore for the development of lakes and so far, Rs 218 crore has been spent,” the minister said. (Maxim News)
