HYDRAA Demolition Drive Intensifies After Court Remarks
HYDRAA demolition drive | Hyderabad, Nov. 17: HYDRAA demolition drive gained pace on Monday after the agency moved to clear alleged encroachments in the Fertilizers Corporation of India Employees Cooperative Housing Society layout at Gachibowli.
The action drew attention because the agency carried it out on a weekday instead of the usual weekend schedule.
A group of affected plot owners had approached the High Court and raised objections against alleged encroachments linked to Sandhya Sridhar Rao.
Court proceedings last week saw sharp observations from the bench. Judges examined claims that roads and parks in the twenty acre layout had been blocked.

They also reviewed submissions that the layout originally carried one hundred sixty two plots. Petitioners stated that several boundaries vanished over time and fresh structures appeared in place of open spaces.
They further alleged that Sandhya Sridhar Rao claimed control over most plots and used pressure to acquire more land. They told the court that they faced threats when they questioned the changes.
Petitioners also informed the court that one woman plot owner faced physical assault. They said false cases followed the attack. They added that the Supreme Court earlier imposed a ten lakh fine on Sandhya Sridhar Rao in another related matter.

They argued that they could not even visit their own plots without conflict. They then sought support from HYDRAA during moments of threat.
HYDRAA officials later inspected the site. They confirmed road encroachments and prepared action plans. Residents said the agency acted soon after confirming these points.
The bench led by Justice Vijayasen Reddy reviewed each complaint. The judge told petitioners that the court already instructed HYDRAA to restore all roads.
He assured them that plot owners could expect fair protection. The court again directed HYDRAA to restore roads and parks within the layout. It then scheduled the final hearing for the eighteenth of this month.
HYDRAA demolition drive teams reached the site early Monday. They cleared alleged illegal sheds and other unauthorised structures.
Staff said they removed only those works that lacked valid permissions. They noted that the drive followed court directions. They also added that the restored layout will reflect original plans.
Residents welcomed the action because they expect clear boundaries and safe access to their plots. They also hope the final hearing will bring lasting clarity.
