I won’t contest in next Assembly elections, will field party worker of my wife: Jagga Reddy
Hyderabad, Sept.7 (NSS): The maverick MLA of Congress T. Jayaprakash Reddy, who is popular as Jagga Reddy, today announced that he would not contest in the next Assembly elections and added that he would field a party worker from his Sangareddy. He said if the party cadres did not show any interest in the contest, he said he would field his wife Nirmala from his constituency.
Speaking to media persons, Jagga Reddy said he would contest in the 2028 Assembly elections. The statement of Jagga Reddy has already created flutter among his party workers and supporters. Jagga Reddy also not visiting Gandhi Bhavan for the past couple of days. He is also keeping a distance from the party’s day-to-day activities.
Jagga Reddy, who lost the Assembly elections from Sangareddy in 2014, won from the same seat in the 2018 Assembly elections. He also worked in the ruling TRS and BJP in the past. He has been at loggerheads with the TPCC president and party MP A. Revanth Reddy ever since he was made the head of the State party unit by the party high command. He openly criticised Revanth Reddy on several issues. (NSS)
