Internet, June 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India is emerging as a centre of solutions for the world and highlighted the country’s growing innovation ecosystem during the Bharat Innovates programme in Nice, France.
Modi inaugurated the event along with French President Emmanuel Macron as part of his ongoing foreign visit.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said India is progressing rapidly in the 21st century and that the country’s startup ecosystem continues to expand.
He said young innovators are working on solutions to global challenges through new ideas and technology. According to Modi, the objective of the programme is to present Indian innovation on the global stage.
Bharat Innovates Highlights India France Innovation Partnership
Modi described young entrepreneurs as a reflection of India’s future and said their confidence and creativity represent a changing India.
He added that several startups are using artificial intelligence to improve rural life and create practical solutions.
The Prime Minister also said India and France share a partnership that extends beyond strategic interests and is based on common values, innovation and long term cooperation.
He said both countries are working together in areas including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, security and sustainable development.
French President Emmanuel Macron praised India’s growing role in global innovation and technology.
Macron said India is making significant investments in education, research and technical training and noted that the country produces more than one million engineers annually.
He also referred to India’s achievements in the space sector and said hosting the Bharat Innovates programme in France for the first time was an honour.
