He spoke to the media in the Parliament premises, in the wake of the beginning of the Union Budget Session. ‘The country is riding on the chariot of reforms. We will continue this tradition. This is not the time for the stagnation of the activities of Parliament. It is time for solutions,’ he said. President Draupadi Murmu’s address to both the Houses on Wednesday was described as the opinion expressed by 140 crore people. The Prime Minister said that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s presentation of 9 consecutive budgets is a matter of pride in the history of India’s parliament, making her the first woman Finance Minister to achieve this feat. She will present her 9th budget in the Lok Sabha on Sunday. Former Prime Minister Morarji Desai presented the budget 10 times and former Minister P. Chidambaram presented it 9 times, but not consecutively. Meanwhile, the Congress alleged that Modi’s message ahead of the budget sessions was as hypocritical as ever. (Maxim News)
