India Issues ‘Notam’ Over The Bay Of Bengal

Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan 31 (Maxim News): India has issued a NOTAM over the Bay of Bengal. It has issued a notice to airlines not to allow flights within a range of 3,190 km over the Bay of Bengal on February 5-6. It seems that the NOTAM limit, which was previously 2,530 km, has now been increased to about 3,190 km.

Reports in the English media suggest that India has issued these notices for missile tests. The reports state that no civilian aircraft will be allowed to fly in the airspace of the Bay of Bengal on February 5 and 6 in view of the sea-based missile test. However, the Indian government has not made any official announcement on the missile test.

Meanwhile, after Operation Sindhur, India has been acquiring a large amount of weapons. It has accelerated the production of indigenous weapons. As part of this, it is actively conducting several missile tests.
