It explores how AI improves guest satisfaction, sustainability, and operational efficiency—covering critical areas such as predictive maintenance, sentiment analysis, and zero-waste initiatives.

A Game-Changer for Hospitality: NamAIste IIHM HospitalityGPT

In a groundbreaking announcement, Dr. Bose revealed that IIHM is set to launch NamAIste IIHM HospitalityGPT, the world’s first generative AI-powered knowledge engine dedicated to the hospitality industry. Currently in alpha testing, it will be formally unveiled by Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on April 24, International Hospitality Day.

A dedicated hospitality industry GPT is the need of the hour,” Dr. Bose explained. “If you ask ChatGPT about Nigerian wines, it may provide incorrect or incomplete information. NamAIste is designed to bridge this gap, offering industry-specific knowledge with precision and relevance.”

He emphasized that IIHM is working with 50 countries through the Young Chef Olympiad (YCO) and expects NamAIste to be utilized by over 100 nations.

Dr. Bose also highlighted India’s potential in AI leadership:

One day, India will create its own Google,” he stated, citing the Indian government’s strong push for AI development and Telangana’s AI Global Summit and AI City initiatives.

A Round Table Conference on AI in hospitality and tourism was also held, featuring industry leaders such as:

  • Ms. Rupa Sree Bhuptapty (Board Member, Google India, AI & Robotics Expert)
  • MV Ganesh (Manjeera Hospitality)
  • Chef Dharmender Lamba (President, Telangana Chefs Association)
  • Mr. Sujay Gupta (Group Director, IIHM)

Panelists discussed AI’s impact on the industry, with Ms. Rupa Sree Bhuptapty addressing concerns about job losses:

It’s natural to fear new technology. When computers were introduced, similar fears arose. AI, too, requires human oversight. It’s better to adopt sooner rather than later.”
