India-Pakistan War: Security Heightened At Gated Communities

Hyderabad: Gated communities and residential colonies have tightened security in view of the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, and a general security alert issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The security managers at the community complexes have issued an advisory to the residents seeking their cooperation and adherence to the security guidelines in order to ensure the safety and security of all the residents.

The residents received messages in the local community WhatsApp groups informing them about the guidelines. It is learnt that the residents are sincerely adhering to the advisory in almost all the residential complexes in the city and suburbs.

A message issued by the security team of an upscale gated community stated that, “in view of the current situation at India’s borders and in consideration of potential security concerns within the Hyderabad area, we are implementing enhanced security protocols to safeguard our community. We kindly request your full cooperation with the following guidelines, effective immediately.”

The safety measures include checking of vehicles of visitors, non-residents, and vendors; vendor and delivery checks, and increased patrolling & CCTV surveillance. The security managers asked the people to report about unattended items or any suspicious activity promptly.

An Inspector working in Cyberabad said that in view of internal threats and possibilities of terror attacks in the current scenario, we have asked the residents to be alert.

“The colony associations and security managers at the gated communities were asked to be watchful and increase security measures. The advice was given in view of the advisory sent by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to all the States,” said the Inspector.

The police in the tri-commissionerates of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda are taking up foot patrolling in different localities to increase police visibility and instill a sense of confidence in the public.
