India Planning Two-Front War, Alleges Pakistan Minister
- Khawaja Asif accuses India of provoking tensions on both borders
- Pakistan Defence Minister claims Afghanistan acting on India’s behalf
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has once again accused India of deliberately attempting to create instability along Pakistan’s borders. Speaking to the media, the minister alleged that India is trying to “start wars on both the eastern and western borders” to make Pakistan restless. His remarks come amid growing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan and India’s ongoing Operation Sindoor, launched from Pakistan’s eastern border in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Khawaja Asif claimed that India’s plan is to engage Pakistan simultaneously on two fronts and that Afghanistan is fighting on behalf of India. He said the ongoing strain with Afghanistan is part of India’s broader strategy to weaken Pakistan through constant conflict. The statement follows a recent border clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan that left both countries strained, though a ceasefire has since taken effect. Asif, however, warned that the situation remained volatile, describing it as “a fire that has not been extinguished.”
The minister also directed criticism at Afghanistan’s government, alleging that the country has been waging war against Pakistan since the tenure of former president Ashraf Ghani. “Afghanistan has been waging war against us on behalf of India since the time of Ashraf Ghani,” he remarked, adding that the “whole world is clear on this issue.” He further claimed to possess evidence to support his allegations and vowed to reveal it if necessary.
Khawaja Asif said that recent ceasefire talks between Pakistani and Afghan authorities were mediated by Qatar and Turkey. He reiterated that India’s “strategy” was to confuse Pakistan through continuous tension and border conflicts. The minister insisted that Islamabad is ready to respond if India attempts to provoke military conflict again.
Earlier too, Khawaja had made similar accusations, asserting that the Afghan leadership was “playing along with India’s demands” and describing Afghanistan as a “puppet state.” He concluded by warning that Pakistan is prepared to counter any confrontation India carries out “from the east and west coasts.”
