India records 4,417 new Covid cases, 23 deaths in 24 hrs

India Covid: Tuesday saw 4,417 instances of Covid-19 reported in India, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections in the country to 2,137,268,615. India’s death toll from the Covid-19 outbreak now stands at 23, bringing the total to 528,030. The number of cured Covid cases in India has increased to 43,886,496 following the recovery of 6,032 individuals during the past 24 hours.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, arrived in Delhi on Monday and met Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, at the latter’s home. The two had a nearly hour-long conversation. Kumar intends to meet with various opposition leaders during his two-day visit to the capital, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The chief minister of Bihar will meet with the president and vice president.

According to IT and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the government is working on a revised version of the data protection bill and a planned Digital India law to increase online accountability. Vaishnaw announced that the government would introduce a new telecom bill within a week during the introduction of the second batch of Cytrain Setu. The planned Digital India law and a new iteration of the Data Protection Bill are both in development, according to the minister.

While efforts are being made to minimise the losses by rescuing the people and giving them food and shelter, at least 11 more people have died in Pakistan in the past 24 hours as a result of disastrous floods, bringing the death toll in the country to 1,325 overall.

In its update, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reported that 12,703 individuals had also been hurt in flood-related accidents that were brought on by monsoon rains.

The largest nuclear power plant in Europe was cut off from Ukraine’s electrical system on Monday after a fire brought on by Russian shelling severed its final transmission connection. Russian soldiers have continued to shell the area near Zaporizhzhia heavily recently, according to a statement from Energoatom.
