India reports 17,073 new COVID cases, 21 fatalities
New Delhi, June 27: According to the Union Health Ministry on Monday, India recorded 17,073 new coronavirus infections, bringing its total to 4,34,07,046, while the daily positivity finally reached 5% after more than four months.
21 new fatalities brought the total number of deaths to 5,25,020, according to ministry data updated at 8 am. The number of active cases rose to 94,420, or 0.22 percent of all infections.
According to the government, the nationwide COVID-19 recovery percentage was 98.57%. The number of active COVID-19 cases increased by 1,844 in a 24-hour period, according to the data.
According to the report, the weekly positivity rate was 3.39 percent and the daily positivity rate was 5.62 percent. After a break of 139 days, the daily positivity reached 5%.
4,27,87,606 persons have recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate has been reported as 1.21 percent.
The ministry reports that 197.11 crore doses of the COVID-19 vaccination have thus far been distributed throughout the nation.
On August 7, 2020; August 23, 2020; September 5, 2020; and September 16, 2020; India’s COVID-19 tally had surpassed the 20 lakh level.
It exceeded the 60 lakh threshold on September 28, the 70 lakh threshold on October 11, the 80 lakh threshold on October 29, the 90 lakh threshold on November 20, and the 1 crore threshold on December 19.
On May 4, 2021, three months later on June 23, and this year on January 25, the nation passed the sombre milestone of two crore instances.
According to the data, there have been 21 fresh fatalities, including six from Kerala, five from Maharashtra, four from Delhi, two from Goa, one from Punjab, and one each from Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.
