Indian Bowler Mohammad Siraj breaks Kapil Dev’s record
August 19: Mohammad Siraj, who has only played seven Tests so far, has set a record and surpassed former India captain Kapil Dev’s mark, which was set 39 years ago. Mohammad Siraj got 4-4 wickets in both Lord’s innings. He grabbed a total of eight wickets at Lord’s, breaking Kapil Dev’s 39-year-old record at this cricket Mecca.
Mohammad Siraj got 8 wickets for 126 runs, whereas Kapil Dev conceded 168 runs for 8 wickets on the same pitch. In 2007, RP Singh gave 117 runs for 7 wickets at Lord’s. Venkatesh Prasad got 7 wickets for 130 runs in 1996. Simultaneously, Ishant Sharma, the hero of Lord’s second win, got 7 wickets for 135 runs in 2014.
