Hyderabad: Students of KL Deemed to be University have earned top honours at the IndiaSkills Competitions 2025, bringing recognition to the institution through strong performances in advanced and additive manufacturing categories. The achievements came from students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who competed at state level events organised by government skill bodies.
At the IndiaSkills 2025 State Level Competition, student B. Harshith Singh secured First Place in the Additive Manufacturing skill category. With this win, he qualified for the Zonal Level and earned the opportunity to represent Telangana. The competition was organised by the Department of Employment and Training, Government of Telangana. It tested participants on CAD modelling, mechanism design, and complete additive manufacturing workflows. The evaluation highlighted strong technical skills and innovation, according to the competition framework.
Meanwhile, the department also recorded success at the AP State Level IndiaSkills Competitions 2025–26. Two B Tech Mechanical Engineering students performed strongly in the Additive Manufacturing category. Mr. N. Sai Ananth secured the Gold Medal, while Ms. K. Eesha won the Silver Medal. The competition was conducted by the State Skill Development Corporation and the National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India. Only a limited number of candidates were shortlisted at the state level, which underlined the high competition and skill standards.

The competition followed a multi stage process. It began at the district level and later moved to the state level. During these stages, participants designed and fabricated complex mechanical components using industry standard CAD tools and 3D printing technologies. The tasks tested precision, time management, and practical application of advanced manufacturing principles. Therefore, the event offered real world exposure to students.
The IndiaSkills Competitions are organised under the WorldSkills framework. They aim to raise the status of skilled trades, inspire youth to pursue technical careers, promote global standards, drive innovation in education, and encourage collaboration.
