Inmates Of Sabarmati Jail Attack Jilani Sparks Tension

Hyderabad, Nov. 19 (Maxim News): Three inmates attacked terror accused Syed Ahmed Mehiyauddin Abdul Khader Jilani inside Sabarmati Central Jail.

Police said the assault created sudden tension in the jail. They noted that Nilesh Sharma, who is serving a sentence in a theft case, led the attack. Two other inmates joined him. They hit Jilani on his nose and near his eyes. Officials said the attackers claimed they acted to show patriotism. They said the claim did not justify violence inside a secure prison.

Police reacted quickly when the fight began. They rushed into the barrack and stopped the attackers. They moved all inmates to separate areas.

Cops took steps to restore calm because the situation grew tense in minutes. Officers said they will not tolerate any assault inside the jail.

Police added that strict monitoring will continue. They said more checks will start to prevent repeat incidents.

Doctors shifted Jilani to the medical ward. They treated him inside the jail hospital. Officials said his injuries need close observation. They added that he remains stable. They also said he will stay under watch until he recovers.

Cops plan to question all three attackers again. They said the jail authority will file an internal report.

Jilani hails from Hyderabad. He studied MBBS in China. He later worked in Dubai. Officials said he moved away from medicine. They said he turned toward extremist ideas.

Jilani learned to make resin based chemicals. He planned a major terror strike. Intelligence teams tracked his moves.

Police arrested him before he could act. Courts later sent him to Sabarmati Central Jail. His case remains under investigation.
