Interactive Session on Financial and Emerging Frauds in Cyber Space held

Interactive Session | Hyderabad, March 25 (Maxim News): SCSC Cyber Security Forum and TSPCC has conducted an interactive session on “Financial and Emerging Frauds in Cyber Space”, as part of the Thought Leadership Sessions, for the CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers & another interactive session with the police officials on cyber and emerging crimes.

Keynote Speaker is Steve Pugh , CISO for ICE Data, which owns the NYSE – New York Stock Exchange. Before joining ICE Data, Steve Pugh has worked with 3 past presidents of USA and advised them on national security and cyber security related areas.

The meeting was well attended by CISOs from various industries like Pharma, IT, ITES, Retail & Hospitals. The event brought together leading cyber security experts and professionals from various industries to discuss cyber security strategies and best practices.

Addressing the gathering Mr Krishna Yedula, Secretary General SCSC said “SCSC is envisioning to work with the CISOs for the common cause of Cyber Safety & Security of industry.. We invite CISOs to come forward and share the knowledge for the benefit of the society”

Interactive Session – Frauds in Cyber Space

Addressing the gathering of CISOs, Commissioner of Police Stephen Raveendra said “The threats posed by Cyber criminals is evolving at an alarming rate and Police is constantly adapting to address these threats.

All Cyber criminals work in organised manner through gangs and only way to counter this, is all good, knowledgeable professionals should join hands with Police and work together for the benefit of the society. I congratulate all the CISOs for doing an excellent job of protecting the assets of the organisations and with the same enthusiasm & dedication you should put efforts to help the nation protecting the country’s assets.

We are thinking of setting up a CISO council to work together and take the initiative forward. I urge everyone to share the best practices adapted in organizations which is a win-win situation for all of us”.

The session covered various topics related to cyber security, including threat intelligence, risk management, data protection, compliance, and emerging technologies. Mr Steve Pugh in his interaction addressed several queries raised by the industry and issues faced by the cyber security professionals on a continuous basis on Ransom ware attacks, Phishing links & fraudsters creating fake websites all the time and how CISOs need to address these on a minute-to-minute basis and not a onetime activity.

Interactive Session Defeat Cyber Criminals

Addressing some of the queries raised by the audience whether companies in USA are far more open to lodge complaints with the police, when they were hit by cyber-attacks and he said that he is unaware of this, as most of these cyber-attacks were addressed by the Insurance companies and they take up the role of negotiators.

He welcomed the idea mooted by the commissioner of police Stephen Raveendra, that CISOs and LEA should work together to defeat cyber criminals and said SCSC is a wonderful initiative which can help bridge the gaps in both ecosystems and further strengthen them.

DCP Crimes, Mr Kalmeshwar Shingenawar welcomed the gathering and explained to them about various initiatives of TSPCC and how it is helping the society – by proactive hunt units, operation units and policy advocacy groups.
