International Urdu Social Science Congress inaugurated at MANUU

Hyderabad, Feb.2 (Maxim News): International Urdu Social Science Congress is being organized online by School of Arts and Social Sciences (SA&SS), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) on February 02 & 03.

Ms. Zulaikha Rafiq, National Consultant with UN Women – Afghanistan, in her keynote address, delivered today in the inaugural session, covered the challenges faced by women in the light of her experiences. She also drew attention to specialization in social sciences besides natural sciences. The theme of the congress is “Social Sciences in South Asia” . Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor MANUU presided over the inaugural.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Mohd Muzammil, Former Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra & MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly and the guest of honour, Prof. Shadan Zeb Khan, Secretary, Central Waqf Council, New Delhi also addressed the inaugural session.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan in his presidential address gave a brief overview of the intellectual movements borrowed from Europe.

Prof S M Rahmatullah, Pro Vice Chancellor delivered the welcome address and spoke about the performance of the university and School. He also highlighted the significance of the Congress. Prof. SK. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar was also present on the occasion.

Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, SA & SS &, and Convenor, IUSSC spoke about the aims and objectives of the congress. Dr. AmeenaTahseen, Head, Dept of Women Education & Coordinator, IUSSC conducted the proceedings and proposed vote of thanks. The congress is being webcast live on IMC Youtube channel.

Meanwhile, Prof. Mohammad Talib, Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Oxford will deliver valedictory address and Dr. Syeda Syedain Hameed, Former Chancellor, MANUU & Former member of planning commission; will be the chief of the valedictory to be held online on February 3 at 3.30 pm. Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Kaw, Rtd. Prof, Dept. Of History, MANUU will be the guest of honour and Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor will preside over. (Maxim News)
