Hyderabad, Aug.2 (Maxim News): The use of plastics was on the rise in spite of hue and cry made about it. Plastics is omnipresent and it continues to be so until an alternative material was invented, said Anil Reddy Vennam, Chairman, Advisory Committee of IPLEX 2018.
Speaking to mediapersons about about the forthcoming show IPLEX 2018 here in the city today, Anil Reddy Vennam said a ban on plastics was not the solution. Explore the other possibilities and change littering habits of people, segregation, recycling has to be encouraged, he added.
The IPLEX is rotationally held once a year in major centers of South India-Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kochi. The event provides a common platform for participants in the plastic industry, manufactures, dealers, buyers and end-users. It helps visitors and industry stay updated with the latest technological trends, he added.
“IPLEX ‘18” will be held at Hitex, Madhapur from August 3 to 6. Some 350 exhibitors are expected to showcase their products, machinery and equipment. Some 50,000 business visitors are expected ruindg the four days of the expo, said Venu Gopal Jasti, Convenor, IPLEX 2018 and president of TAAPMA. It is organized by TAAPMA—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Plastics Manufacturers Association. The 9th edition of IPLEX’18, is supported by the industries across India & Globe. It has the patronage from the major polymer producers and Govt. of India along with local governments. Plast India Foundation; AIPMA, Indian Plastics Federation; Indian Plastics Institution; Gujarat State Plastics Manufacturers Association and others support the event.
Some of the exhibitors include: Gail India Ltd; ONGC Petro Additions Ltd; XL Plastics; Toshiba Machines; Sudhakar PVC Products Pvt Ltd; Kabra Extrusion Technik Ltd and others. Microplastics pollution is a great concern for all of us. We too discourage use of plastic bags. Mere banning without alternative solutions will be a futile effort. (Maxim News)
