Reports indicate that civil unrest has been affecting many parts of Iran for some time. A few days ago, another police officer was killed in a separate incident. The killing of Mahmoud Hagighat marks the second such case in recent days. Meanwhile, Iranian police responded to the latest murder by stating that the accused would be arrested and punished soon. Authorities have not shared further details about the suspects.

The overall situation in Iran remains worrying. The historic Old Grand Bazaar in Tehran has been closed for several days. This closure reflects the depth of the ongoing protests. At the same time, the country is facing a severe economic crisis. The value of Iran’s currency has fallen sharply. Many blame sanctions imposed by Western countries for this decline. Others also point to government failure and negligence as contributing factors.
