Tehran/internet/Hyderabad, Feb 11 (Maxim News): Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed some sadness over the violent crackdown by security forces on anti-government protests in Iran. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, he apologized to the people of the country. He said he understands the pain of those who lost family members and those injured in the crackdown.
Pezeshkian said the government was ashamed of its failure to contain the country’s economic crisis. However, he did not mention that protesters there had lost their lives in attacks by security forces. He said that the protests in the country were being sparked by false propaganda by Western countries. He said that his government would never want conflicts with the people or wars with other countries.
Massoud Pezeshkian clarified that there is no truth in the accusations made by Israel and the United States that they are producing large quantities of nuclear weapons. He said that they will only defend their legitimate rights to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. He said that they are ready to resolve all issues through negotiations. On the other hand, he clarified that Iran will not yield to the demands made by the United States under any circumstances. (Maxim News)
