He said that immediately after coming to power, he promised in the Abhayahastam manifesto, page number 26 to increase the wages of ASHA workers and provide job security.  But now, when ASHA sisters take to the streets demanding that the promise be implemented, he said that it is wrong to beat them up with the police as they wish.

He praised the Asha workers who served girls and children during Indiramma’s reign, saying, “Didn’t they have the right to protest? didn’t they have the freedom to ask for their problems to be resolved?” He said, that before the formation of Telangana, the honorarium of Asha workers was only Rs. 1500, but KCR increased it to Rs. 10 thousand, recognizing and honoring their services.  He expressed his anger that the Congress government has not fulfilled the promise made even after a year. He expressed that it is shameful that the government has swallowed the hope of the people by adopting a vicious attitude.
