Hyderabad, Dec.14 (Maixm News): The High Court today adjourned to next Friday the hearing in the petitions filed on the attack on Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly and YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The court expressed concern over the Union Government sent the sealed cover containing the reports sent by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) and asked the Union Home Ministry to send another report in an appropriate manner.
YS Jagan’s advocate Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy told the media that the High Court expressed its displeasure in the way the Central Government had sent the report and the case was adjourned for hearing on December 21, 2018. The court also questioned the Central Government counsel asking if the Centre would transfer the case to the NIA or should the court direct the Centre to transfer it, he said.
In the previous hearing, the Centre had told the High Court that it was examining the possibility of conducting a probe by National Investigating Agency (NIA) into the attack and had also appealed to the court to grant time to take a decision on it. Taking the submission made by the Centre into consideration, the bench directed the Centre not to disclose if it has taken a decision on the above and submit such a decision in a sealed cover before the court.
Meanwhile, the ongoing investigation into the attack on the YSRCP chief by the AP police would be continued, and the Centre is believed to have already received some information through the CISF. The Centre could take a decision based on such information. Later, the bench adjourned the case to December 21 for further hearing. (Maxim News)
