Jail term for Actor Mohan Babu in cheque bounce case

Hyderabad, April 2 (Maxim News): Tollywood actor and producer Manchu Mohan Babu was convicted in a cheque bounce case and awarded one-year jail sentence and fine of Rs 41. 75 lakh by the Erramanzil Court here on Tuesday.

The cheque bounce case was filed by filmmaker YVS Chowdary against Mohan Babu. In 2010, YVS Chowdary directed Mohan Babu’s son Manchu Vishnu’s movie ‘Saleem.’ As remuneration, Mohan Babu handed over a cheque of Rs 48 lakh to YVS Chowdary, which was bounced. Later, the director-cum-producer approached the court.

In the case, the court named Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures as principal accused and Mohan Babu as second accused. After hearing arguments of both the sides, the court found Mohan Babu guilty and sentenced him to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs 48 lakh. (Maxim News)
