Jana Sena, BJP alliance in trouble…?
Hyderabad: Jana Sena party led by Pawan Kalyan and BJP cadre in Andhra Pradesh failed to win voters’ trust in municipal elections.
Both parties could not reach their expectations except few seats. Both the parties faced the polls together for the first time after allies in 2019.
However, their alliance seems to be in trouble after the Municipal elections in AP and MLC elections in Telangana. Jana Sena leader Pothina Mahesh has alleged that due to their alliance with BJP, their party lost its image in Vijayawada.
He said even people are not happy about the alliance of Jana Sena with BJP.
Pawan Kalyan has expressed his resentment, alleging that the Telangana BJP cadre has not been giving due recognition to his party. Jana Sena Chief asking people to support the TRS candidate in the MLC election has shocked the political fraternity.
“I have decided to continue my political journey for at least two decades. Initially, I focused on Andhra Pradesh as Telangana is a newly formed state and the party, which agitated for achieving statehood is in power. But I am receiving repeated requests from my party workers to start party work in Telangana. From today, I will increase my political activity in Telangana and focus on key issues,” Pawan said and added that the party would contest in the Khammam municipal elections.
Meanwhile, BJP condemned the Jana Sena chief’s comments. Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay and other key leaders said that Pawan should have talked to them if he was unhappy with them. They said that he had broken friendship with the BJP by
supporting TRS’ MLC candidate.
Sanjay claimed that Pawan’s comments on polling day had confused people. Responding to Pawan’s remarks stating the Telangana BJP was insulting his party workers, Sanjay said Jana Sena had opposed TRS in GHMC elections but it is now supporting it. “This is what kind of an indication. It has created confusion” he said.
Sanjay said that if Pawan had any problem, he should have brought it to the notice of the BJP central leadership or brought the matter before him. “We never discussed the alliance with Jana Sena,” the Telangana BJP chief said.
