The turncoats MLAs do not value the Congress ideologies. They have their interests, Goud said.  Leaders and workers, who have been loyal to Congress, have been crying foul over offering top positions to BRS defectors.

The Congress government offered the Agriculture Adviser post to Banswada MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and the Public Accounts Committee Chairman post to Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, yet the former MP said no assurances were given to the turncoats about nominated posts.  At the same time, despite the leaders’ outburst over turncoats being given priority in the constituencies, he assured that loyal workers to the Congress would be given top priority in filling up the remaining nominated posts.

Goud said both BJP and BRS threatened that democratically elected governments would collapse within no time.  Left with no choice, the Congress was compelled to join them in the party, he added.

The former MP also raised concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in the State.  Referring to Congress leader Ganga Reddy’s murder, he said despite MLC Jeevan Reddy alerting the police about regular attacks on Congress leaders, they had failed to protect them.  (Maxim News)
