Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Harish Rao has complained to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy, alleging that the ruling Congress party is luring voters in the Jubilee Hills by-election. The BRS delegation met officials at BRK Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday and submitted evidence supporting their claims.

Harish Rao accused the Congress of distributing money, liquor, and sarees to voters, calling it a clear violation of the election code. He said that some officials and police personnel were favoring the ruling party and ignoring these irregularities. “The Congress party is distributing money, saris and liquor in violation of the election code,” Harish Rao said. He added that some police and election officials have “become stooges for the Congress party,” and that complaints filed by the BRS are being leaked, alerting those distributing gifts.

According to Harish Rao, the BRS team has provided video and photo proof of the alleged voter inducements to the Chief Electoral Commission. The election officials have acknowledged receiving the complaints. “We have submitted all this to the Chief Election Commission along with video and photo evidence,” he said after the meeting.

Speaking to the media, Harish Rao expressed confidence that action will be taken. He alleged that Congress activists were openly distributing money in Erragadda, Sheikh Pet, and Borabanda divisions while officials turned a blind eye. A complaint was also filed through the C-Whistle App to flag these violations. Harish Rao further alleged that fake voter IDs were being created in large numbers and questioned poll officials for allowing a polling booth right in front of a Congress party office in Yousufguda. He demanded that either the booth or the office be relocated immediately.

Taking a swipe at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Harish Rao said the CM convened a review meeting on six guarantees only due to fear of defeat in the by-election. “Why have these six guarantees not been reviewed for two years?” he asked, adding that Revanth Reddy was “sweating over this election.”
