Jubilee Hills By-Election: Kavitha’s Entry Rumors Spark Speculation

Hyderabad, Sept 15 (Maxim News): The Jubilee Hills by-election is shaping up to be a high-stakes political contest. Just when the candidate seemed almost certain, Congress stirred the waters by nominating Mohammed Azharuddin as an MLC, reigniting debates over candidate selection. Meanwhile, BRS politics is also witnessing unexpected twists.

For the bypoll, BRS Working President KTR has stepped in, backing Sunitha, wife of Maganti Gopinath, as the party’s candidate. He has been actively meeting leaders across the constituency, signaling a strong push to secure victory and demonstrate his influence in Hyderabad ahead of the GHMC elections.

Adding more drama, an unexpected development emerged on Monday. P.J. Reddy’s son and former Jubilee Hills MLA P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy met with former BRS leader and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha. Their half-hour discussion fueled speculation about a possible ticket arrangement for the by-election.

Vishnuvardhan Reddy has a notable political track record: he won the Khairatabad by-election in 2008 on a Congress ticket after his father’s death, secured Jubilee Hills in 2009, but lost to Maganti Gopinath in 2014 and 2018. He later joined BRS before the 2023 elections, reportedly due to dissatisfaction with Congress.

However, Vishnu has quickly put rumors to rest, clarifying that Kavitha’s visit was merely an invitation from Peddamma’s mother for Dussehra and Navratri celebrations. “My journey is with KTR. I will always say this: KTR will get a promotion, and I will also get a promotion,” he affirmed, dismissing any speculations about a political realignment. (Maxim News)
