Hyderabad, Oct 13: The Jubilee Hills by-election nomination process opened with steady activity on the first day, as a total of 10 nominations were filed, according to Returning Officer Sairam.
He said two candidates represented registered parties, while eight others filed as independents. Therefore, the field began to take shape early, and filings closed for the day without incident.
Among party candidates, Pusa Srinivas submitted papers on behalf of the Telangana Punarnirman Samiti.
Meanwhile, Arvapalli Srinivasa Rao filed his nomination from the Navataram Party.
Also, several independent candidates entered the fray.
These included Siliveru Srikanth, Pesarakayala Parikshit Reddy, Chalika Chandrasekhar, Sapavath Suman, Vemula Vikram Reddy, Ibrahim Khan and two others. Then, the first day’s round of filings concluded.
Returning Officer Sairam outlined conduct rules near the office during the process. He said restrictions would apply up to 100 metres from the Returning Officer’s office.
He emphasized adherence to these limits as nominations continue. Therefore, candidate teams and supporters will need to plan movements and gatherings with care in the notified zone.
He also addressed allegations about fake voters in the constituency. He said the inquiry into alleged fake votes is ongoing.

However, he clarified that the “43 votes” cited by the opposition were already present in the 2023 Assembly elections and the 2024 Parliament elections, and “are not new.”
He added that a preliminary probe has found no fake votes. Then, he noted that a full report would be available by the evening.
The first day, thus, delivered a clear snapshot of early contenders and the administrative stance on roll integrity and ground protocols.
Meanwhile, more nominations are expected as the window remains open.
Therefore, attention will stay on both the expanding candidate list and the final verification report on voter roll claims.
Later, scrutiny of papers will follow statutory timelines, shaping the final list of candidates for the by-poll.
