The committee said the move is a democratic protest aimed at drawing attention to losses faced by 25 Mala castes in Group-3 over the past five months in education, employment, and promotions. The plan was unveiled at a meeting held at Somajiguda Press Club on Monday.

Mala JAC Chairman Mandala Bhaskar alleged that repeated petitions to party presidents, including the Congress, over five months brought little response.

He said the time has come to express aspirations and concerns directly to the Congress government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Therefore, he stated, “we are going to file our nominations with 300 Malas in Jubilee Hills to protest in a democratic manner.”

He framed the step as a bid to highlight the impact of classification policies on the community.

On demands, Mala JAC sought immediate amendment to the SC Classification Act. The committee also asked the government to increase the reservation percentage for the Mala community.

It further demanded two roster points within 20. These points, the JAC said, would address present inequities. Meanwhile, the group pressed for swift action and clarity on implementation.

Mandala Bhaskar escalated criticism of the government’s approach. He alleged that Revanth Reddy was working to “destroy the Malas in all fields through classification.”

He claimed that education and job opportunities for Mala students had been damaged as part of a faction-building act. He called on “democratic Malas” to unite and declare a “war on the government,” and to hand the Congress a defeat in the Jubilee Hills by-election.

He warned of wider political consequences in local body polls if policies do not change.

He said that if Revanth Reddy does not respond immediately to Mala problems, the protest will continue, considering it “the end of the Congress party.”

He also alleged that it is becoming clear that the administration is in the hands of the Chief Minister’s “own family and followers.”

Therefore, the JAC’s plan for mass nominations is positioned as both protest and pressure. Later, the scale of filings and official responses may shape the bypoll’s tone. (Maxim News)
